Join us for an epic European roadtrip across six countries from Estonia to Hungary. The concept is simple:
• No registration
• No entry fees
• Roadbook available to everyone for download
• Join for just a few days or the whole length of the trip
It is a fun European road trip from Tallin, Estonia to Mohacs, Hungary. It’s an open source, community road trip. It means that there are no entry fees, no registrations and the roadbook is available for everyone to download. Just like on the Budapest-Bamako there are daily stages and there are nightly finish points and campgrounds and hotels. This is where the fun starts. The Bamako Summer is a place meet new friends and hang out with old ones in these camps. At every stage end we will allocate and official hotel and an official campground.
We will publish the exact route a few weeks before the rally in our roadbook, which will be available to everyone. You’re free to join the tour at any of the nightly camps and continue with the group from there. For example, if you’re based in Slovakia and would like to take part in the Slovakia – Hungary leg for two or three nights, you can join the rally at the Košice campground. Or you might prefer to come just for the final day in Mohács – it’s entirely up to you.
The route will pass through Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary, with the rally finishing at the Fish Soup Cooking World Championship in Mohács, Hungary. We’ve always had a soft spot for unusual events.
Yes. The motto is the same. Anyone. By Anything. By Any Means. For the Bamako Summer this applies even more. There is no registration and there is no entry fee. You just show up.
No and no. Medical emergency services will be available in each of these countries by dialing 112. You are responsible for having your own travel insurance. Instead of daily briefings we will set up a Whatsapp Group.
We will upload a number design to our website, which you can download and add your number to it. Take it to a printer, print it and put it on your car. It’s total DIY.
The roadbook will be a community written Wikipedia like concept. We’ve never done anything like that, but we know that there are people in the group who know the woods of Latvia or the hidden dirt roads of Slovakia better than us. So we’re asking participants who help contribute to the roadbook by covering a section that they are familiar with. Join our roadbook writing team.
We will host a big finish line party in Mohacs as part of the Fish Soup Cooking World Championship. Mohacs will also be the place where we will reveal the exact route of the 2027 Bamako Extreme.
