CHARITY WORK

CHARITY BEGINS IN YOUR HEART
DIRECT COMMUNITY TO COMMUNITY GIVING

Over the past few years the Budapest-Bamako has grown into the largest charity rally in the world. We are the prime example of community to community direct giving.  You are free to create your own charity project, raise funds or donations and deliver the gifts. All middlemen are completely eliminated. We will help you to make sure that your gifts reach the right recipients. Be creative, be daring! Help us promote peace, cooperation and friendship across borders by spreading your love.

HUMANITARIAN ACCOMPLISHMENTS OVER THE YEARS

WELL PROJECT IN GAMBIA

In 2018 among many other smaller projects we dug a well in a small village outside on Janjanbureh. Participants of the rally donated funds and the rally organization arranged for the construction of a new well, which not only provides clean drinking water but supports a small community vegetable garden.

VILLAGE VENTURES, MALI

We love to help grass roots, micro NGOs, such as Pam Young’s one woman project, Village Ventures in Diema. We dug a well, installed solar panels, brought 700 bikes, medical supplies, ambulance and solar panels to the people of Diema. Learn more about Pam’s project at https://villageventures-diema.com/

JCI NOTHING BUT NETS

In 2011 we delivered 10,000 mosquito nets to rural families in Mali. Millions of children under five die of malaria each year in Africa. JCI’s rally teams have  delivered these life saving devices to Mali and Senegal with the 2011 rally. Each net could save the lives of mulitple children in Africa for many years to come.

SOLAR PANELS FOR VILLAGES

Most remote villages are off the electricity grid in West Africa. Villagers also have no access to gas so they cut off trees to cook dinner. Solar panels and solar ovens help solve both solutions. In 2009 Team Green Knights installed solar panels and solar cookers in a small Malian village. These systems operate to this day.

A NEW SCHOOL IN MALI

If you’re looking for a very ambitious project, build a school in Africa. In 2010 the Norwegian Bamako Team raised the funds and gathered local resources to build a small school in a rural community in North Eastern Mali. The school opened for the 2010/2011 academic year. A project like this will only cost $20,000-$50,000 in West Africa

CHARITY TRUCK TO BRING YOUR DONATIONS

Feel free to collect all sorts of gifts for African communities. Collect school supplies, medical supplies, tools, bicycles, sawing machines. The best news is you don’t have to transport them. Each year we fill a huge truck full of donations. All you have to do is ship everything to the African Hungarian Union ahead of the rally and we’ll deliver them.
